Can all CUNY students use any CUNY library?
Current CUNY students, faculty, and staff may enter and borrow books from any CUNY library, with these exceptions: The CUNY Law School extends access-only privileges (no borrowing) to students and faculty not currently enrolled there. neighboring high school students.
What is the role of librarians in collection development in the library?
Collection development is ongoing process, undertaken by librarian and library staff with input from faculty and students. The process of examining the academic and research needs of its target users and selecting materials in support of those needs, for both faculty and students.
What should be included in a collection development policy?
There are three inextricable components of Collection Development: acquisition, weeding, and preservation. Consideration must be given to all three of these elements in order to achieve the collection that is consistent with the mission of Franklin College, and with the Library’s mission statement.
Why should a library have a collection development policy?
The main reason to write a collection development policy is to prevent the library from being driven by events or by individual enthusiasms and from purchasing a random set of resources, which may not support the mission of the library.
Can CUNY students use NYU library?
With your CUNY ID, you can walk into any* CUNY library and use their print and e-resources on site. (There are a few exceptions—some libraries have licenses to databases that only allow use for their own students; these are a small exception, though, and not the rule.)
Can CUNY students visit other CUNY schools?
Students currently enrolled at another CUNY college must file an E-Permit with their home college. Check the website of the home college for E-Permit application and procedures.
